On January 13th, Albert Hill 6th graders went to St. John’s Church to hear Patrick Henry’s “Give me Liberty or Give me Death” speech. All of the 6th graders were split into 4 school buses. There was Ms. Lingle, Ms. Lawson, Ms. Shia, Ms. Weinberg, and Ms. Perry and all the kids on the buses, and were of like that.
Once we got to St. John’s Church, we went inside and sat down in the pews. A man gave a rundown on what we were about to see. The actors gave us reenactment on the speech. Right in the middle of the skit, my friend Melly’s phone went off and she couldn’t turn it off. Then she got sent to the back of the church.
After the skit was over, we went outside and things got totally chaotic. While teachers were trying to find a lost bus, kids were taking selfies with the actors. It was pure craziness! Finally, the lost bus came back we went straight back to boring Albert Hill. Even though it was crazy at some times, I had a great time at the field trip and I can’t wait for the next one.
