          Sajerra By Lucy Coogan

Sajerra was the kind of person who found beauty. Every single day she would walk by the river. She found berries of all different colors and with her touch the berries turned to flowers. Sajerra always ran through fields with flowers throughout her hair. She swam with the dolphins and all the fish. She wrote of all the dreams she experienced.

Her days of being free are now long gone. Her hair doesn’t flow and the flowers don’t grow. She sits in a chair that many have sat and stares and waits for the world to change.

She used to find beauty but now she finds hate. She used to run, but now she walks. She was free, but now she’s not.

They changed the way she thinks and sees. Her dreams are now just in her head and she walks a lonely, lonely path.

Magic Object

By Olivia Town

I pressed my face against the cool window of the plane and watched as the landscape drastically transformed.  My heart raced faster as I saw how striking the world below was. The plane slowly dipped toward the earth and landed efficiently. I gathered my possessions and leisurely made my way off. I was struck by the sticky air and took a deep breath and paced on.

Three months I have been in Vietnam recording the war. It has altered my life. I am now use to the never ending feeling of risk. I stay in a bunker underground. The floors are dirt and the food is stale. I get a basket of soap that disintegrates in my hands and a new sheet which is the only thing keeping me from freezing in the night.

I can’t wait to go home again but I know my life will never be the same again. This war might end physically but it will never end in the minds of the people there.

Memroc
By: LaRucksha Rucker

My name is LaRucksha Rucker and I am twelve years old. A lot of people say that I am loquacious, which is true. What’s really annoying is that people call me a “goodie goodie” and that is also true. People also say that I’m so nice that I can never be mean.

What I really like about myself is that I’m very artistic and that I really love. I think of it as a gift to me. When I draw I have to have concentration. Its hard to be an artist when you have no idea of what to draw. I like drawing with pencil, but I really don’t like painting and all that other stuff. I like sculpting too, but I mostly just draw.

Art is one of my natural talents. Art is the best subject ever. It is what made everything pretty today. I just love how you can be creative and artistic about things. Art is special to me, it makes me feel creative and artistic.

A lot of people say that I’m loquacious, but I don’t really mind; I hear people say that everyday ( not really but just a lot of times). I just like to talk to talk to people and and have a nice conversation. Some of my friends get annoyed when I talk/ so I just stop talking.

When I was ten years old I used to have a personal trainer named Hannah. Hannah was the best trainer ever and was really funny, too. We would go to the YMCA and workout for an hour . We would jump rope, do cart-wheels, and lots of other stuff, too. Hannah and I had so much fun together.

I am a person that loves to play video games. I also love watching YouTube videos.  I also love watching Mortal Combax X, and lots of other games. I also love playing UNO, Mancala, Monopoly, and tons mores. The electronics I love to play are the Wii, PlayStation, Tablet, X-Box 360, and lots of others.

I love to cook. Cooking is really fun, especially desserts. When I grow up I want to be an artist, but I really want to be a pastry chef. Ilove desserts and I love baking desserts for myself and other people. I know a lot of people love cupcakes, cakes and other stuff too.

There’s a lot more about me, but I don’t really know how to tell it, but that’s all I can tell you for now.

The Fat Cat

By Tony Caramucci

In Memory of Kitty 2001-2015

There once was a fat cat named kitty and an average dog named Ruth. They were sitting on the couch when a bird flew up and said,

“Kitty Your so fat.”

Kitty was mad. She thought for some time and was about to say she has everything that she wants, but now she wants to lose weight. Ruth got up and chased the bird then Ruth started yelling

“I’M NOT FAT IM NOT FAT HA-HA-HA”

Kitty was jealous but she but she didn’t want to say that she was fat. Kitty got up and walked away you can even tell that she is fat because when she walks her stomach moves back and forth. Kitty took a two hour nap and when she woke up she had her fourth meal of the day. When Kitty went outside seeing five kittens playing quack-dillioso. Kitty walked over to them and asked if she could play, but the kittens said there’s not enough space. Then kitty sat for hours and thought,

What should I do, said kitty

Then kitty decided to lose weight so she can play with the kittens and chase birds with Ruth. Now two months later kitty is an average weight and has lots of friends. Kitty learned her lesson  being fat is not good.

The Cat and the Boy by Garrett Hendricks

(vocab practice)

One day an adventurous boy wandered into the woods. Then he heard a ruffle in a nearby thorn bush. A black cat emerged anxiously.

The boy then approached the cat in the hope for a pet on the head, but the cat saw this bending forward as a threat. The black cat pounced knocking the boy off balance. The boy grabbed the cat by the tail to try not to fall in the mud behind him.

The cat was flung by the force of the boy falling into the exact thorn bush it came from. Therefore, the boy emerged triumphant.

The Adventure by Athena Haley

(Vocab practice)

One day there was a young girl who was going to visit her grandparents in Hawaii. It wasn’t her first time visiting her grandparents but it was the first time she was going alone and she was very anxious.  When she got off the plane and finally got to her grandparents’ house her nerves settled. After a while of unpacking her things she was bored and she wanted to do something exciting. She was feeling very adventurous so she decided to go on a walk in the woods.

She started on the top of the trail by her grandparents’ house. She walked and kept walking until she came across a river. She attempted to jump over the river and made it. She faced many more obstacles along the path but when she got home she was feeling very triumphant and treated herself to some coconut ice cream her grandparents had in the fridge.

The Goalie

By Gus Guarnieri

It was an Erie night. Melissa and Jack were walking around and wanted something to do. They were bored, real bored. It was about 3:00 am when they came across a big building. It looked cool, so they checked it out. The doors were open and everything. When they went inside they saw that it was an old, run down ice hockey rink and stadium. They checked it out and decided to go on the ice. There were a bunch of holes in the ice. It was still cold.

They got off the ice and checked the cash machine to see if there was any money. There was Two Hundred Dollars! They were so happy they ran around the whole stadium, until something happened. While they running, Melissa fell into a trap door. Jack jumped down with her. The trap door took them to the ice rink. All the doors closed except one across the rink. They ran for it. All of a sudden a slimy goalie glove stuck out of the rink and took Jack down and he pulled Melissa down with him.

They messed up, they messed up real hard. They tried not to scream when a zany monster threw them into a cell. Also in the cell was an old Zamboni Operator. It seemed he was pretty dull, yet he was also flirtatious and was flirting with Melissa.

Fall                                                                                                      By Peyton Cyrus

Cold mornings, warm afternoons

Hot coffee,

Wool sweaters

Winter is on the way,

Summer’s going away

Snow is fun,

But after comes the sun

Then soon after that, it all comes back
